This month, 90 new documents and 40 new titles have been added to World Constitutions Illustrated; see below for details.

New Documents

Following are the new documents added this month:


  • Two consolidated German texts of the current Constitution, both from the Federal Chancellery. The German text alone, as in effect 2 January 2014; and the side-by-side German/English text, with the German as in effect 1 January 2014 and the English as of 1 March 2010

  • French texts of the two drafts of 27 October and 25 November 1831
  • Seven editions of the final text of 1831: 1 in Danish, 4 in French and 2 in German


  • Current/latest consolidated translation of the Constitution of 1988 as amended to Constitutional Amendment 76 by Prof. Keith Rosenn, together with his translations of the amending laws 75 and 76


  • Constitution of 1980, as codified in 2005, as amended again by Law No. 20.710 of 25 November 2013


  • Text of the amending law of 2011 from the official gazette, presented in the form of the official reporting of the results of the referendum of 7 May 2011, together with the consolidated Spanish text of the Council of the Judicature


  • Arabic text and the English translation of the Draft Constitution of 2 December 2013 from the State Information Service


  • 18 German texts of various historical documents of the 19th c.

  • 18 Danish, French, German and Hungarian texts of the early documents: the Golden Bull of 1222 (often referred to as the Hungarian equivalent of the Magna Carta), and the constitutional laws Nos. 10, 12 and 19 of 1791


  • German text of the Constitution of 1848


  • Updated translation of the Constitution of 1917 as amended, including the Spanish consolidation of the Chamber of Deputies of the first, and in three editions of the second


  • Montenegrin and English texts of Amendments I-XVI of 31 July 2013 added to the Constitution of 2007


  • Ten editions in Dutch, French and German, added concerning the original text of the Basic Law of 1815, as amended to 1840, as amend to 1848 and as amended to 1887


  • Two editions in German of the original text of the Constitution of 4 November 1814


  • Three Spanish texts of the Constitution of 1870
  • One Spanish text of the Constitution of 1940

SloveniaSlovene Government Palace in Ljubljana

  • Four editions of the current text of 1991: two English translations and one Slovenian of the text as amended to 2013, and one English translation of the text as amended to 2006.


  • English and Vietnamese editions of the Constitution of 1992, as amended in 2013 and as it entered onto force on 1 January 2014
  • English translation of the 1946 Constitution of the Democratic Republic has also been included
