It's difficult to believe that HeinOnline has been serving the electronic needs of the law library community since May 8, 2000. We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate HeinOnline's birthday and to thank our loyal and fantastic customers for their unwavering support and assistance in making HeinOnline the legal research powerhouse that it is today!

Mad Cow Disease was causing alarm in Europe because of its rapid growth, and Hillary Clinton was elected to the U.S. Senate, representing HeinOnline's home state of New York! HeinOnline contained about 270,000 total pages and the content consisted only of law journals. The interface looked like this:
Since 2000, we have grown exponentially, adding new collections, increasing the content in all existing collections, and adding myriad tools and features to enhance research experiences for the power user and novice alike. Check out the HeinOnline Timeline for a detailed description of HeinOnline's growth over the past 15 years.
Remarkably, we have added 122,127,408 pages to HeinOnline since its inception. That's about:
- 8,141,827 pages per year
- 22,306 pages per day
- 929 pages per hour
- 15 pages per minute
- 1 page every 4 seconds!
We continue to expand and enhance all aspects of the database. Recently, we improved our search result relevancy algorithm, which we blogged about here. We are in the midst of an interface enhancement project, and we're thrilled to offer our customers a sneak peek:
