HeinOnline is well known for encouraging customer feedback, and many features that have been implemented over the past several months have been the direct result of suggestions received from users. Earlier this year, we sent a survey to our customers, and several responses indicated that users wanted additional indexing in the Session Laws Library. We are pleased to announce that we have a program in place to index all state session laws to the chapter or act level!
All new additions to the Session Laws Library will be indexed to the chapter or act level. We have also ranked all states in the order in which they are accessed by HeinOnline users, and will index session laws in this order in 10-year increments, in reverse chronological order. The following states have already been started:
- California (1997-2014)
- New York (2005-2014)
- Maryland (2005-2014)
- Florida (2005-2014)
- Illinois (2005-2014)
- Ohio (2005-2006)
- Texas (2005-2013)
Check out HeinOnline’s home state of New York, which now has chapter-level indexing from 2005 to 2014:
For example, choose New York from the drop-down menu in this tool, enter 2005 in the year box, and 144 in the chapter box. Click search, and you will be directed to the proper page instantly:
We will continue to diligently work on this project until all states are indexed back to inception, and we anticipate completion to be within approximately two years. We’d like to thank our customers for this suggestion, and encourage everyone to continue giving us valuable feedback.
