HeinOnline's Updated Interface: Top 5 FAQs

HeinOnline's updated interface has been available for more than two months, and feedback from our users has been overwhelmingly positive! Below are the top five inquiries our support team has received from customers since the interface was released on August 11.

1. Where is the citation navigator?

HeinOnline has a universal citation navigator located on the Welcome Page:

Users can enter a citation into this box to access material; if a user is unsure of the citation format, the Citation Format Guide link is directly beneath the search bar.

If a collection-specific citation navigator is available within a library, clicking the citation tab will display a Citation Navigator link beneath the search bar. For example, the classic Citation Navigator is available in the Law Journal Library:

Certain collections, like the Federal Register Librarydisplay a citation navigator on the collection homepage:

2. Where is ScholarCheck information displayed?

ScholarCheck information, such as the number of times an article has been cited by other articles or accessed by other HeinOnline users within a rolling 12-month period, is displayed in both search results and on the page view screen.

3. How do I print from HeinOnline?

There are two icons which enable users to print or download HeinOnline documents:

The red PDF icon will automatically print the current article or section that a user is viewing, from either the search results page or the page view screen. The download options icon will enable users to choose from several print/download options, including:

1. Printing the current section
2. Printing a custom page range
3. Using a QR code reader to download a document to a HeinOnline-authenticated mobile device

4. How do I access author profile pages?

Access an author's profile page by clicking that author's name from search results:

This will display the author's profile page, which lists articles written by the author, ScholarCheck statistics, and additional information provided by authors at their discretion:

5. Where are the CSVs for HeinOnline monthly content releases?

The monthly content release CSVs are located in the options bar on the upper right side of any screen in HeinOnline, under What's New:
