With the July release, 92 new documents and 23 new titles have been added to World Constitutions Illustrated; see below for details.



  • The Constitution of Austria was amended again by Federal Act No. 41/2016 of 8 June 2016. We include the german text of the amending law, and two consolidated texts of the Federal Chancellery. The first of these is the German text which includes the state of the Constitution on the specific day of the download. The other is the diglot German/English text which is fully consolidated with all adopted provisions, even if they have not yet entered into force



  • The Constitution of 1988 was amended again by Consitutional Amendment No. 92 of 12 July 2016. The Portuguese text of the amending law has been included from the Official Gazette and from the Chamber of Deputies. The consolidated Portuguese text has been included from the Chamber of Deputies, the Presidency and the Senate


Democratic Republic of the Congo

  • We include an English translation of the Constitution of 1964 (1st Republic) as originally published by the American Society of International Law



  • The current/latest Spanish text of the Presidency of the Constitution of 1991 as amended to Legislative Act No. 2 of 2015 has been included



  • We added the English, Hindi, and I'Tauklei texts of the Constitution as soon as they were made available in 201. The Government has now made the corresponding English edition of the Official Gazette available



  • 11 documents have been added:




    • This includes the consolidated text which includes all amendments up to Act No. 5 of 2009
    • There have been two additional amendments, in 2015 and 2016, both concerning the Third Schedule. We include the English text of these, and of 8 other amending laws from 2001 to 2007



  • The Fundamental Law of 2011/2012 was amended again on 14 June 2016. We add the text of the amending law from the Official Gazette, as well as the consolidated text from the Official Gazette and the Parliament



  • Amendments to the Constoitution of 1952 were promulgated by King Abdullah on 4 May 2016. We include the consolidated Arabic text from the Constitutional Court, as well as the Court's consolidated to 2011



  • The Constitution of 1922 was amended again on 19 May 2016 concerning Art. 33. We have added the Latvian text of the amending law, and the current/latest in English, French and Latvian


Marshall Islands

  • The Constitution of 1979 has not been amended since 1995. We have included the latest edition of the Nitijela [Parliament]



  • We include the French text of Framework Agreement of 6 April 2012 which provided for the constitutional transitiont to the, then, relative political stability in Mali



  • The English text of the amending law, Act No. 4 of 2012, to the Constitution of 1994, has been added



  • The Constitution of 1968 was amended by Act No. 19 of 18 September 2015. We also include the two Gazette Notices of 1968 concerning the original adoption of the Constitution in January 1968, and its "altered" version of 4 months later



  • 7 documents have been added:




    • Our own current/latest translation of the Constitution of 2010 the VIIth Republic, has been updated to take into account the two amending laws of 2011
    • In addition to the French texts of the amending laws, we include French texts of the Constitutions of IVth through VIIth Republics as made available by the Constitutional Court



  • The Constitution of 1814, the oldest extant single document constitution other than our own, was amended again on 24 May 2016. The amending law and the consolidated text are presented in both Bokmal and Nynorsk, and the English translation of the Storting [Parliament] is also included



  • We include a variant English translation of the Constitution of 2015, this provided by the Embassy of Nepal in the Federal Republic of Germany



  • The 22nd Amendment Act to the Constitution of 1973 received assent on 9 June 2016 and was published in the Gazette of Pakistan of 10 June 2016, which we include



  • We include the latest edition of the Constitution 1993 as amended to 2015, made available by the Congress in May 2016



  • 16 Polish texts of constitutional documents of the period 1791 to 1921 have been added, from Marcelli Handelsman's definitive collection of 1926



  • 9 documents have been added, in English and Samoan, concerning the Constitution of 1960. These include the amending law of 2014, and the two of 2015, and the current/latest consolidation



  • We add our own translation of the Constitution of 1959: Senegal's independence constitution
