At HeinOnline, we understand that librarians are constantly adjusting to technical changes as they perform and assist with a multitude of research endeavors across several databases.

Last fall, we updated our interface. The appearance was streamlined, and new tools were created for a more user-friendly research experience. As a result, we've created many new help resources. The following is a snapshot of various resources we offer for librarians, as well as help materials available for both new and experienced HeinOnline users to get the most from their subscriptions.

1.) Librarian Guide Information Sheet

Do your University's LibGuides mention HeinOnline? If so, we've made a short guide containing a general database description as well as information on how to obtain up-to-date descriptions of individual HeinOnline collections. We encourage librarians to copy the HeinOnline description from this page and paste it into your University LibGuides.

2.) HeinOnline Training

Whether you need a basic introduction to HeinOnline or want advanced training on a particular topic, our support specialists are here to help. The free training is provided via a live web conference, and we will tailor the interactive sessions to meet your needs and provide you the opportunity to learn more about the various features and collections of HeinOnline. Session duration will be 30 to 60 minutes, based on the content that is being covered. Fill out this form to request a training session today.

3.) Author Profile Pages

Enhancing Author Profile Pages is an excellent way to showcase and promote an author's scholarly work. This page automatically displays a list of the author's articles and ScholarCheck statistics, and can be augmented to include a photo, biographical information, and links to the author's website and social media accounts. Use email alerts to be notified when an author's articles are added, or when the author is cited by new articles added to the database. Author Profile Pages are available on anyone who has written any law review articles available in HeinOnline. As a librarian, you may also enhance an author profile page on behalf of a faculty member. Click here to add to your profile today.

4.) Librarian's Corner

We recognize and support your efforts to promote the use of HeinOnline and Hein in your library. To assist you with these efforts, we have created different promotional materials and digital files of our logos that you can download to use on your website, blog, email newsletters, or any other format through which you are announcing new HeinOnline libraries, Hein products, or promoting the use and availability of HeinOnline to your students. We ask that you please review our Identity Guidelines to ensure proper use of our company and product names, logos, and tag lines. If you have any questions about the use of our marks, please contact us and we'll gladly assist you.

5.) Branding

Branding your HeinOnline account is an effective way to communicate to your users that this valuable resource is available to them through support and funding from your organization. Branding is free and allows you to display your logo on the HeinOnline Welcome Page with custom links to your online catalog, help desk or other frequently utilizes resources. Branding also offers the option of linking to your library's catalog for law reviews that are embargoed in HeinOnline by enabling ISSN and/or OpenURL link resolvers. If we cannot provide the full text of an article, this linking will help your users determine if material is available elsewhere in your library.

6.) Help Page

Both new and veteran users of HeinOnline may benefit from the Comprehensive User's Guide, which covers a basic overview of HeinOnline from the login process, to database structure, to searching, and more. Others may prefer to jump ahead and review our Searching 101 and Advanced Search Syntax guides, which cover basic searching and then how to use advanced search syntax features and Boolean operators to perform more effective searches. These guides are easy to download and are constantly updated as changes are implemented to the database. In addition to these resources, you will also find live chat support, numerous YouTube videos, and frequently asked questions available on this page.

7.) Social Media
