Auctoritas Prudentium

Auctoritas Prudentium is an academic journal in a virtual format from the Faculty of Law at the University of the Isthmus, published biannually. It disseminates studies and research articles related to legal, historical, social, and political thought to contribute to the reflection on the problems and solutions that the practice of law faces in our contemporary world. It was established with the primary objective of promoting and supporting legal research and the academic exchange of documents of doctrinal and scientific value. As its Latin name indicates, Auctoritas signifies a quality or position of preeminence over others, in the genuine sense of having grown, and Prudentium involves the recognition of the thought and responsible responses of jurists.

The BAU Cyprus Law Journal (BCLJ) aims to serve as a valuable resource for legal researchers by providing a comprehensive collection of legal sources, reviews, and articles to support their academic pursuits. Through involvement in data collection, legal writing, and crafting sound legal arguments, students gain hands-on experience under the guidance of BAU’s legal experts and academics. Additionally, the journal is committed to raising awareness about contemporary legal issues globally. It also seeks to foster collaboration with other legal institutions, universities, and organizations, enhancing the breadth and depth of the legal discourse presented. This initiative is a pioneering effort by the BAU Cyprus Law Society and is managed by its law students with supervision from esteemed scholars. The BCLJ is a peer-reviewed journal, welcoming contributions from law students, academics, and legal professionals. It accepts a variety of scholarly submissions, including articles, essays, case reviews, book reviews, and translations, across all legal fields.
