2018 certainly had its ups and downs. HeinOnline continued to grow and improving, in 2018 alone we had more than 12 million searches & nearly 500 million hits! We added new databases, new content and implemented new search features. Here’s a brief synopsis of what happened with HeinOnline in 2018.

This month, HeinOnline celebrates its 18th birthday. Since May of 2000, HeinOnline has provided legal and academic information to the library community and beyond in an image-based, user-friendly, and fully searchable format!
HeinOnline has supported both HTTP and HTTPS protocols for many years. Effective June 19th, 2018, HeinOnline is phasing out the HTTP protocol and is automatically redirecting all visitors to the secured (HTTPS) version of our site: https://heinonline.org/HOL/Welcome.

We have partnered with several different vendors to enhance HeinOnline content and better serve our customers. Not only have we expanded our content, but we have added helpful resources for our users. This blog highlights the relationships we’ve created and how they have improved HeinOnline.
As HeinOnline continues to grow, we often must upgrade our server space, bandwidth, and power to accommodate increases both in data and user demands. As a result, we will soon be relocating one of our hosting sites to a new state-of-the-art data center.
