It’s easy to create permanent links to HeinOnline libraries, titles, and even a specific page of a document for cataloging, researching and referencing purposes.

Creating Links for HeinOnline Libraries

To create a link for a HeinOnline library, right-click on the collection from the list of subscribed libraries on the Welcome Screen and choose Copy Link Location in Firefox, Copy Shortcut in Internet Explorer, Copy Link Address in Chrome, or Copy Link in Safari, and then paste the link accordingly. Your Links Are Still Valid and the Permalink Button is Back. Thanks For Your Feedback!

After our recent announcement about the permalink button, we received a number of questions regarding the links you have already created using that button and whether those links are still valid. Any links that you created in the past with that feature are still valid links and will work in HeinOnline; nothing has changed in that regard.

By improving the linkability without the need to use the permalink button, we are hoping to make it easier to bookmark pages using your bookmarking options within your browser. If you do not use your browser’s bookmarking functions, you can simply copy the URL from the browser’s address bar and paste it into an email or another source.

Linking to an Article, Page or Document is Now Easier; Permalink Button Obsolete

The Permalink button that has typically been used to bookmark a specific page within HeinOnline is now obsolete.  This button has historically been displayed on the page toolbar when you are viewing a document in HeinOnline.  This past month, we have made modifications behind the scenes to enable you to bookmark a page without have to click the permalink button first.  This will make it easier and faster to send a URL to a colleague, or bookmark a specific page using your browser’s bookmarking tools.
