In other news, recent enhancements have been made to HeinOnline’s infrastructure. Other than increased performance, these changes will not be noticeable to the end user. However, as a result of these enhancements, users will most likely notice a significant decrease in the number of ‘Hits’ reported in usage statistics. More information is provided here.
This past February, U.S. News announced that they were considering evaluating U.S. law school scholarly impact and would be using HeinOnline as the source for the citation data. Since this announcement, we have received many questions and concerns from the library community, so we would like to take this opportunity to provide some background information and an update on our involvement with this project. The Law Journal Library continues to grow with the addition of 10 new journals this month and will continue to grow with the forthcoming addition of seven new titles from John Wiley & Sons, Inc. which will be available with the May content release. More than 120 titles were recently added to the Legal Classics Library, nearly 30 titles were added to World Constitutions Illustrated, and more than 700 Congressional Research Service Reports were added to U.S. Congressional Documents. This collection now includes more than 44,000 congressional reports!
We’re thrilled to announce that Celebrating Diversity: A Legacy of Minority Leadership in the American Association of Law Libraries, Second Edition is the winner of the 2019 Joseph L. Andrews Legal Literature Award. The book identifies and profiles new and future leaders in AALL, demonstrating the growth of diverse law library professionals in the field.
William S. Hein & Co., Inc. & HeinOnline is excited to announce a major enhancement to our existing and long-standing partnership with Brill Publishing. Hein now offers subscriptions to the Brill | Nijhoff Journal & Yearbook Collections, which brings current content in addition to the complete archive of more than 40 prestigious journals and nearly 20 yearbooks from Brill | Nijhoff publishers to HeinOnline. The journal and yearbook collections may be purchased separately or as a package. As a result, we are now able to offer HeinOnline’s worldwide customer base the option to access the entire history of this highly prestigious list in international law.
The 8th Edition of National Survey of State Laws (NSSL) is now available. This new edition includes an additional 200 pages and four years of updates for every chapter. NSSL is an indispensable reference work which provides an overall view of some of the most asked-about and controversial legal topics in the United States. This print and online resource is a must-have guide for state-by-state law comparison.
Authors who have enhanced their author profile page to include their email address and have also created a MyHein account using the same email address will now see a direct link to access their author profile page via the MyHein menu. To access this new feature, authors must be signed in to MyHein.
We are always increasing the value of a HeinOnline subscription, and are pleased to announce that we are expanding our existing agreement with John Wiley & Sons, Inc.! Many Wiley journals have been added this month, and the Law Journal Library will soon include seven titles which will be added at no extra cost.
A new update to the Serial Set is now available, which includes nearly 350 volumes and 214,000 pages of content! More than 87% of the Serial Set is currently available in HeinOnline or via HathiTrust Digital Library.
Sharia (Islamic Law) in the Contemporary World: A Legal Research Guide is now available. This title is the first and only research guide of its kind that unravels the complex theories, principles, and rules of Islamic jurisprudence.
A new video is now available featuring Denny J. Haythorn, Retired Associate Dean for Library & Information Services at Whittier Law School.
