This month, HeinOnline celebrates its 19th birthday. Since May of 2000, HeinOnline has provided legal and academic information to the library community and beyond in an image-based, user-friendly, and fully searchable format! To celebrate our birthday this year, we thought it would be fun to give away a $500 Amazon gift card to one lucky winner! Be sure to head over to our Twitter to learn how you can enter for a chance to win.

In other news, recent enhancements have been made to HeinOnline’s infrastructure. Other than increased performance, these changes will not be noticeable to the end user. However, as a result of these enhancements, users will most likely notice a significant decrease in the number of ‘Hits’ reported in usage statistics. More information is provided here.

This past February, U.S. News announced that they were considering evaluating U.S. law school scholarly impact and would be using HeinOnline as the source for the citation data. Since this announcement, we have received many questions and concerns from the library community, so we would like to take this opportunity to provide some background information and an update on our involvement with this project. More information is provided here.

The Law Journal Library continues to grow with the addition of 10 new journals this month and will continue to grow with the forthcoming addition of seven new titles from John Wiley & Sons, Inc. which will be available with the May content release. More than 120 titles were recently added to the Legal Classics Library, nearly 30 titles were added to World Constitutions Illustrated, and more than 700 Congressional Research Service Reports were added to U.S. Congressional Documents. We’re thrilled to announce that Celebrating Diversity: A Legacy of Minority Leadership in the American Association of Law Libraries, Second Edition is the winner of the 2019 Joseph L. Andrews Legal Literature Award. The book identifies and profiles new and future leaders in AALL, demonstrating the growth of diverse law library professionals in the field.

New Database

William S. Hein & Co., Inc. & HeinOnline is excited to announce a major enhancement to our existing and long-standing partnership with Brill Publishing. Hein now offers subscriptions to the Brill | Nijhoff Journal & Yearbook Collections, which brings current content in addition to the complete archive of more than 40 prestigious journals and nearly 20 yearbooks from Brill | Nijhoff publishers to HeinOnline. The journal and yearbook collections may be purchased separately or as a package. As a result, we are now able to offer HeinOnline’s worldwide customer base the option to access the entire history of this highly prestigious list in international law.

Major Database Update

The 8th Edition of National Survey of State Laws (NSSL) is now available. This new edition includes an additional 200 pages and four years of updates for every chapter.
