Additional Information: Human Rights in Law Enforcement is a scientific journal that was created within a European-funded project implemented by the Police Academy Alexandru Ioan Cuza, entitled The Center for the promotion of human rights in the institutions of public order and security (SMIS 23120), between 2011-2013. The Journal entitled Human Rights in Law Enforcement" aims to promote the values underlying the education for a democratic citizenship (EDC) as it was defined by the European Commission, as a set of practices and activities for training young people and adults as active and responsible citizens in a democratic society. Also, we promote human rights education (HRE) as a suite of programs and educational activities that promote equality and human dignity. Closely intertwined, EDC and HRE relate with the continuous development education, the intercultural education and the education for peace. The main feature of EDC is it's multidimensional, permanent, lifelong nature and the focus on the community and policy makers and civil society organizations. The HRLE journal goals are related with promotion of belonging and commitment to a democratic society and also raising awareness of the common fundamental values and building a freer society, more just and more tolerant, in Europe.
