Based on British models, it considers mattersof jurisdiction, apprehension of accused persons, evidence,sentencing, appeals and courts of inquiry. It also containsan extensive appendix with forms, the articles of war andextracts from relevant supporting texts. Macomb, one of thefirst officers trained at West Point, was a judge-advocatein the U.S. Army.
