The Dickinson Law Review ("DLR") is in its 123rd year of publication. For 112 of those years, the law review was published solely out of the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, PA. During that time, Dickinson had no affiliation with Penn State. In 2000, however, Penn State and Dickinson School of Law merged to form the Penn State University's Dickinson School of Law. In 2006, Penn State established a second law school campus in University Park. The University Park campus and the Carlisle campus operated as a single, unified law school from 2006 to 2016.
In 2003, when there was only one law school campus in Carlisle, the law review changed its name to the Penn State Law Review. During the time that Dickinson School of Law operated its second campus (2006 - 2016), students from both Penn State campuses jointly produced the law review under the Penn State Law Review name.
In 2016, the two Penn State campuses split into two separately accredited Penn State law schools: Penn State Dickinson Law (Carlisle, PA) and Penn State Law (University Park, PA). After the split, the journal at Penn State Dickinson Law returned to its previous name of the Dickinson Law Review, and the journal at Penn State Law resumed under the Penn State Law Review name. Both law reviews continued publishing under each title with consecutive numbering (volume 122) for the 2017-18 academic year.
The 2017-2018 academic year marked the first year of the "new" Dickinson Law Review. During that year, the journal published Volume 122.
