One of the most important documents in the establishment ofthe Permanent Court of International Justice because theStatute of the Permanent Court was taken over by theInternational Court of Justice in 1945 nearly unchanged. This is the only documentary evidence we have of thedrafters' train of thought. Between 16 June and 24 July 1920an international group of 10 distinguished jurists includingElihu Root, Albert de Lapradelle and Lord Phillimore held 35meetings in the Peace Palace in The Hague to draft thestatute of the ICJ for the Permanent Court (PCIJ) of theLeague of Nations. The Proces-Verbaux documents theproceedings of these sessions. The Annexes contain the textsof relevant supporting documents, including early drafts ofthe statute. With index.
