Although it fluctuated in intensity, one of the mostconsistently pursuied policies of the Nazi regime in Germanywas the persecution of the Jews. The Nazis exhibited aparadoxical penchant for legality and endeavored to legalizethe Holocaust by passing many laws placing disabilities andrestrictions on Jews. Legalizing the persecutions made theeventual extermination of millions of Jews possible, becauseit made mass murder less criminal in the eyes of themurderers and made the Jews more vulnerble. The documentsselected for this volume pertain to laws and directivesimposing the wearing of the Star of David on German Jews, aswell as ssevere punishment for "racial pollution." Otherdocuments deal with the extension of legalized discrimina-tion to countries newly occupied by the Nazis. Reprinted byLawbook Exchange, Ltd. Distributed by Wm. S. Hein & Co., Inc
