I love the resources that are available on HeinOnline, especially the Law Journal Library, U.S. Congressional Serial Set, and U.S. Congressional Documents. The databases are easy to use, and the LibGuides help answer questions that I or our users may have with searching and browsing. I love MyHein and the ability to bookmark articles for later reading. Awesome!

When people realize how easy it is to use HeinOnline, they want to use it more because they realize how powerful this resource really is. Hein has been around for like forever but it has been in maybe the last decade that people have finally realized its utility ... It's become the ultimate diamond in the rough that will help you achieve success, every time (in any situation).
Bret ChristensenOutreach, Instruction, Reference Librarian, Charleston School of Law
Hein is a family company that is responsive to user needs. I love their customer service. When I send a request, I know it will be answered in a timely fashion with a personal touch. Thank You, Hein!
What makes acquisition of this database exciting is its depth and its application to so many different disciplines and areas of study. While HeinOnline is an excellent resource for researchers looking for articles on legal issues of any kind, the collections have applicability to anyone studying history, political science, public policy and administration, homeland security, criminal justice, international relations, or any topic which involves those subjects.

I love Hein because I feel like they actually know me and care about me as a customer.
Hein is one of my longtime favorite companies. Y'all have a great product and I've never (NEVER!) had a bad customer service experience with Hein. Everyone I've ever asked/talked to/whined at has been knowledgeable and kind. And this has been the case for over 20 years. I don't dread getting in touch with y'all, even if my question/situation is weird. Thank you from the bottom of my withered little heart.
Rebekah MaxwellAssociate Director of Library Operations, University of South Carolina
You are my staple in training! I start talking about Hein to the 1Ls in their Legal Research Class and go all the way through to Alumni who have questions about the HeinOnline Fastcase integration.
Hein was a gem that I didn't truly understand until after law school (sadly). It's user-friendly and straight-forward. The company actually listens to law librarians (which I love) and makes meaningful changes when we request them.
Sean HarringtonElectronic Resources Librarian, Arizona State University
I love being able to access the CFR, Federal Register, bar journals, and law journals in one place.
Great customer service!
As a medical library, legal materials are not normally the first thing you go looking for as an addition to your collection. When we initially added it to our medical collection, we were not expecting to see much usage. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that, especially in our current legal climate, that our students are using our access to HeinOnline often. The access to current and historical legal precedence that pertains to medical and social issues has proven to be a valuable resource in training our medical students. Those in our public health program find it particularly useful. Not only is the information relevant, but the willingness of Hein staff to work with us to meet our students research needs has proven to be invaluable to the growth of our collection.
Ease of use, great customer service, affordable content.
The other day a law professor informed me that HeinOnline is a “goldmine”–but I already knew that. Recently, I have used HeinOnline to help patrons find colonial-era laws about cross-dressing, an 1805 Louisiana Territory law, and early federal health and safety regulations. Some of these patrons had wasted time looking on Westlaw and Lexis, which simply don’t have what they needed.
Mary RumseyReference and Instructional Services Librarian, Willamette University College of Law
PDFs of the journals! It allows specific pages to be cited via Bluebook.
HeinOnline is my go-to resource for legal periodical research. It's a treasure trove of historical codes, session laws, and even pre-statehood materials. It seems like there's something new every time I sign on! And best of all, new features are not offered as an additional subscription tier, but are just available to use when they are released. I don't know what I'd do without Hein.
Samantha SmartLaw Librarian, Cabaniss Johnston
I use Hein almost every day. I can't imagine functioning as a law librarian without the resources made available by Hein.
David HoltSenior Research Law Librarian, UC Davis
I think HOL offers tremendous value (price point) for the quality and quantity of available content. I also like that HOL provides personable customer service. You can call and talk to a human and get answers to your questions. Its people are at the core of its excellent service!
Easy to use, logically arranged, comprehensive.
Hein offers great research resources for the legal investigator. I appreciate the search improvements made to the interface.
Carol Morgan CollinsHead of Technical Services, University of Tennessee Law Library
They have been laser focused in providing a usable repository of legal literature. They have not been roped into the new "hot" technology of the minute and thus have been able to continue to add value by being excellent at what they do.
You guys make us look good, especially when someone asks for that one obscure article from the 1960s.
Today was the first day I used your database to assist a student. It was so easy to use and I located the case I needed. I am so happy.
Vivian StewartAssociate Director, Library Services, Southwest TN Community College
For undergraduate and graduate students conducting interdisciplinary research involving legal information, HeinOnline offers authentic and more comprehensive information than what can be found in the open web. HeinOnline is easy to use and provides both keyword and citation searches in all collections as well as unique search tools for primary source collections, making it unique among competitors. HeinOnline also offers superb support and fantastic user and librarian tools.
Raquel OrtizAssistant Dean for Library & Information Services, RWU Law
Hein is a family company in so many ways! It's a loyal supporter of law librarians, and I love that Dick, Steve, Dan, and so many others at the booth know me personally. I've been working in libraries long enough to remember calling in journal claims to Loretta, so I appreciate a company that keeps its employees long-term and forges such strong relationships with customers, but also isn't afraid to innovate with a wonderful product like HeinOnline. Bravo, and here's to another 100 years at least! :)”
Karen SeldenMetadata Services Librarian, University of Colorado
We love the HeinOnline interface as it's so much more intuitive than Lexis. Our stats are solid and I think the interface is professional and works well with discovery.
Catherine TuohyAssociate Librarian for Electronic Resource Management, Emmanual College
You guys preserve a ton of content that other publishers aren't willing or interested to preserve. PDFs of this material are invaluable to our work.
I began subscribing to HeinOnline this past school year and it is wonderful for history and political science research. It was brought to my attention by a student who found an article through Google Scholar and it was in this database. After speaking with the rep and looking it over, I jumped on this one. And it proved to be very helpful to most all the other students through the rest of the year with their historical research.
Highly recommend if you have a serious, scholarly history research assignment at your school.

HeinOnline was very user-friendly and had such a wide variety of sources. It felt like it was built by researchers for researchers. So many buttons made the citing, PDF’ing, and recording URLs a breeze

Y'all have an incredible collection, from the Serial Set, to the state historical codes, to the social justice materials, and everything in between. I love revealing the gems on Hein to my students.
HeinOnline is easily my favorite research tool. The platform hosts the most useful library of government records, scholarly journals, and leading treatises. What truly sets HeinOnline apart from other legal research systems is how easily users can find exactly what they are looking for. When I was a law review editor, HeinOnline was my first and last stop whenever I needed to check any citation. Whether I was looking for transcripts of a congressional subcommittee hearing in 1913 or the text of a recently adopted international treaty, I found it faster on HeinOnline. As a practicing lawyer, HeinOnline remains my favorite tool because I am confident in the results it delivers. From comprehensive legislative histories to publications at the vanguard of legal innovation, HeinOnline is a one-stop shop to find resources that can give lawyers a crucial advantage.
Grinnell College subscribed to HeinOnline many years ago. We did it initially to meet demand for law-related materials from Political Science courses. Since then, HeinOnline has become one of the most reliable and active providers of full-text content across our campus—from the Humanities to even the Sciences. The consistency of demand, even during the summers when we do not hold classes but have active student and faculty research, is remarkable. In addition, I cannot remember the last time we had a technical support issue with HeinOnline. Strong demand for the full text content coupled with seamless, trouble-free access; HeinOnline has been one of the most cost-effective investments we’ve made in the many years I have been at Grinnell.
Kevin EngelAssociate Professor and Science Librarian, Grinnell College
Hein has always been so great and I think a big part of that has to do with the fact that there’s not a huge turnover like there is at the other big companies. The Hein customer service has always been the best since I’ve been in libraries (since 1991!).
Christy L. SmithHead of Collection Services, Seton Hall University School of Law
The state body said free access to HeinOnline would make the process of bringing Georgian legislation closer to European Union legal standards more effective, strengthen activities based on scientific findings and analytics within the ministry, and promote human rights-oriented approaches and evidence-based policies.

As a new subscriber to HeinOnline I have appreciated the well organized interface, which has made this resource easy to introduce to students and to faculty. Students value the wide variety of information that can be integrated into their research papers; teachers across the curriculum enjoy having another resource to support classroom learning. As a librarian I’ve been pleased with the ease of setup, the training that was provided and the low cost. Hein Online has been a valuable addition to our collection of databases.
Cathy RettbergHead Librarian | Menlo School (Atherton, CA)
Curated deep content, organized well for easy browsing and searching. A go to for me as a reference librarian and a fabulous resource I can use with undergrads and non-law grad students.
... HeinOnline feels like a “one stop shop.” The collections are vast and broad in range (i.e. periodicals, case law, statutes, journal articles, presidential libraries, treaties, and so much more), it is incredibly easy to use, and the image quality of documents is “second to none,” there is even an option to archive documents for future use. I love the functionality of the website because it is clearly labeled and streamlined, which makes it very user friendly. This is a database that deserves to be on everyone’s radar!

I LOVE the Law Journal Library. It's such a great resource for my students, and I find they are able to easily run searches and find responsive material.
HeinOnline is easy to use and reliable. Our debate coach and students use HeinOnline all the time.

The people are friendly, knowledgeable. Easy to work with! Great customer service. Responsive ... need I say more because I can!
So grateful for HeinOnline, particularly in the COVID context, but really, always. Your Keyword Search Building & "More Like This" features are fantastic, and our students especially are always blown away when I demonstrate how to use them!
Katarina DanielsLiaison Librarian, McGill University
I love that HeinOnline works to preserve important historical legal resources. The availability of digital scans of original materials helps in teaching law students about the history and development of important legal research tools. I always use the state reports and statutes collections to help my students understand the development of U.S. state law over time.
Looking for an online legal database for research? HeinOnline is one of my go-to sources, and on more than one occasion has saved my bacon ... The database has multiple options available for emailing, printing and downloading pages and sections of a volume, all for free!

Easy user interface which offers niche electronic access to archived state session laws not found elsewhere.
Hein provides me with access to virtually every law review ever published. Since we don't have a law school, our library is limited, and Lexis only goes back to about 1980. Through Hein, I get access to all the law review articles I used to have to drive to UCLA to read.
Laura KalmanDistinguished Professor of History, University of California, Santa Barbara
It is reliable, well-indexed, and has just about everything.
LOVED seeing the "Women and the Law" database ... This incredible database is filled with really great articles/work that helps combine the WGST discipline with the study and practice of law.

I’ve been a user of HeinOnline products for nearly 20 years and find that the content is some of the most valuable I use in my legal research. It is one of the starting places which my librarians, researcher, and attorneys begin their research because of the wealth of information HeinOnline contains ... HeinOnline is one of the products we use that gives us a high return on our investment. In fact, I would say that HeinOnline gives us the most bang for the buck.
Greg LambertChief Knowledge Services Officer, Jackson Walker
Love that you continue to digitize so much of the print research materials we rely on and give us a much better reading experience than OCR text.
Matthew ElishaReference Librarian, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP
We appreciate your support of librarians and the collegiality of your staff. You provide great content, at reasonable costs, you're responsive to suggestions, and are always adding new content. You've worked with librarians on special collections and AALL publications, even when they may not be the most lucrative projects to take on. Thanks for being fantastic partners!
Love the historical resources.
Good family run company that tries to respond quickly to customer needs.
Makes me look like a rock star when I can quickly pull an article someone is looking for.
I use it regularly for legal research - my go to for law reviews but also have answered many research questions with other resources.
Ethical publishing, customer focused and family owned.
Boy! We are loving HeinOnline!! This has to be the ultimate Gov Docs database. Thank you so much for setting up the trial for us!
D. Waheedah BilalReference Services Division, Missouri State Library
It's such a great resource for materials that I can't find anywhere else! If I'm looking for older material - it's always the first place I check!

I love the selection of foreign and international journals and the Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals!

Students and faculty think I am magic when I find things for them.
Frankly, Hein's database is very user-friendly. If you can use Google (and who can’t?), you can use HeinOnline! Looking for a case, there’s a link for that! Looking for a periodical, there’s a link for that! Interested in International Law? Well, you guessed it, there’s a link for that, too! Hein designed their interface to suit any user, not just us sophisticated legal geniuses.

I love the quick and easy access to the Federal Register and Code of Federal Regulations, and all the law reviews!
Beyond their database, Hein as an organization is dedicated to education and information sharing. They have a newly launched Youtube channel with dozens of training and informational videos to ensure users get the most out of the experience. The HeinOnline blog is absolutely top-notch, with timely, accurate information not just about their services, but also about the world in which they work and live. Guides to help the public arm themselves against fake news, articles delving into the history of race relations in the United States and legislative biographies of famous historical figures are all covered with equal veracity and equity.
