About the Tax Foundation Archive Publications Database

HeinOnline’s Tax Foundation Archive Publications provides convenient access to the complete archive of the Tax Foundation’s publications from 1937 to date. The Tax Foundation is the nation’s leading independent tax policy 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Since 1937, their principled research, insightful analysis, and engaged experts have informed smarter tax policy at the federal, state, and global levels. For over 80 years, their goal has remained the same: to improve lives through tax policies that lead to greater economic growth and opportunity.

Also included in this database are more than 400 volumes of publications from the Institute for Research on the Economics of Taxation (IRET). Now defunct, IRET was a non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) economic research institute located in Washington, DC. IRET was dedicated to the belief that constructive, free market economic policies are essential for the nation’s economic progress, and that the private sector is the principal engine of economic growth. Constructive public policies, in IRET’s view, must be more than just politically attractive; they must make economic sense as well.
