New Journals Added to HeinOnline: June & July 2023

Over the past two months, we have added 17 new active serials to our Law Journal Library, which cover subjects including human rights law, criminal law and procedure, constitutional law, legislation, and much more. Keep reading to learn about these new additions to our collection of multidisciplinary journals!

1. Collection of Papers from the Conference Organized on Occasion of the Day of the Faculty of Law

Subjects: Human Rights Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, International Law, Legislation

This collection of papers contains articles from university professors who participate at the annual scientific conference which has been classified as the international conference by the relevant ministry for science. It usually contains between 50 and 70 articles in several languages and its audience is members of the academic community as well as competent political and judicial institutions. The Collection of Papers is edited by the editor-in-chief, who is one of the faculty professors, and all articles are double peer-reviewed.

3. Florida Entertainment and Sports Law Review

The Florida Entertainment and Sports Law Review’s (FESLR) purpose is to further the educational and professional mission of the University and UF Law, primarily through the timely publication of a student-run legal journal, known publicly as the Florida Entertainment and Sports Law Review and frequently known as FESLR. Specifically, FESLR is committed to providing itself as a practical resource to professionals in the entertainment and sports industries, who are in or interested in obtaining legal, JD-advantage, and business roles, as well as students and other interested parties. FESLR will be a primary resource for relevant writings that highlight topical industry news and unearth the complexity of deep-rooted industry issues through the lens of entertainment and sports attorneys, executives, and law students. FESLR‘s mission is for practitioners to apply the article takeaways to their daily work, depending on their industry and role, and to educate the masses on the depth of the ever-evolving entertainment and sports industries’ intersection with law and policy.

The Journal of Islamic Law (JIL) aims to bridge the gap between textual and contextual approaches and integrate the two in facing the challenges of changing laws and increasingly complex social institutions. The journal focuses on the issue of Islamic law and society in Muslim-majority countries with various approaches from normative, juridical, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, history, criminology, political sciences, psychology, and economics, and is intended to communicate the original research and current issues on the subject. However, in publishing, the novelty and timeliness of issues are the top priorities. This journal provides a forum for scholars, academics, researchers, and students interested in current issues of Islamic law and society in Muslim-majority countries. This journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars with related disciplines that consider the following general scopes: Fatwa and Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic Family Law, Islamic Economic Law, Islamic Criminal Law, Islamic Constitutional Law, Islamic Astronomy (Falak Studies), and Islamic Philanthropy. Journal of Islamic Law (JIL) is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M), Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Pontianak.


6. Krytyka Prawa. Niezalezne Studia and Prawem

The scientific, peer-reviewed legal quarterly Krytyka Prawa. Niezalezne Studia and Prawem (The Critique of Law. Independent Legal Studies) has been issued since 2009. A critical attitude toward the law is necessary for its proper creation, interpretation, application, and functioning. It requires an open, reliable, and independent approach to the law as an object of intellectual reflection. The authors are kindly invited to exercise critique of the law from the perspective of theory and philosophy of law, and social sciences, including economics, sociology, and psychology. The topics of the subsequent issues will focus on questions of public law. Above all, the journal publishes original articles that might be of interest to the international academic community within the profile of the journal, and texts that are of social or economic importance to Poland.

The main audience of the publication is lawyers, professors, paralegals, and legal practitioners in general. Legal Methods is a peer-edited academic journal.


8. Pravovedenie

Published by Saint Petersburg State University

Subjects: Legislation, Human Rights Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, International Law

Pravovedenie is a legal journal publishing scholarly articles in a wide range of branches and fields of law. Since its foundation in 1957 (being one the oldest and the most authoritative legal reviews in Russia), Pravovedenie has been publishing theoretical articles and book reviews, since recently not only in Russian, but also in English. This peer-edited journal practices double-blinded peer-review. The intended audience primarily includes legal scholars. The mission of the journal is to publish results of the most recent topical legal researches and make bridges between legal science in Russia and abroad.


9. Societas et Scientia: Collection of Papers of the Ohrid School of Natural Law Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts

Societas et Scientia is a collection of articles following the Ohrid School of Natural Law which is an initiative of the Centre for Strategic Research at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts. It is a platform to transfer knowledge, discuss the current developments, and criticize the legal framework and the governmental policies through its collection of papers and lectures from the most prominent legal experts and the best-advanced law students. Every year, master and doctoral students from every law faculty in the country and abroad get together and share their thoughts and experience regarding the law. Each participant is selected upon an open-application process, with a merit-based approach. Societas et Scientia is empowering future legal professionals and igniting their critical views and standpoints; it motivates them to conduct future research and develop new ideas and methods to advance the country’s rule of law, democratic values, as well as sustainable development. Societas et Scientia is peer-edited by an international editorial board.

Kultura Polisa is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal, which publishes original scientific manuscripts on topics from the legal and other social and humanities sciences fields. It includes previously unpublished scientific and professional articles, essays, critiques, and research, which express the opinions of their authors, and not necessarily the opinions of the Editorial Board. In that sense, the journal opens up space for all researchers around the world, without any disqualifying criteria other than originality and quality of content, which are determined by independent reviews. The aim of Kultura Polisa is to spread scientific knowledge through original results of scientific research that represent a contribution to the development of science. We are open to manuscripts that: (a) look at social phenomena from different perspectives; (b) use scientific methodology, including quantitative and qualitative experiential analyses, as well as innovative theoretical considerations; (c) deserve scientific publishing due to their relevance, and thus contribute to the visibility of the intellectual capacity of a multidisciplinary scientific community. 8. USFQ Law Review

USFQ Law Review is a legal, academic, and indexed journal, with a double-blind peer review process, authorial opening, and biannual publication since 2021, with the first number of this volume published in May, and the second in October 2021. The journal was born in 2012 as a student initiative. It is the first legal periodical publication in Ecuador that is fully developed, managed, and edited by students of the Law Faculty of Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador. Its objective is to provide a space for national and international experts in various areas of law, such as students, professionals, and academics, to publish legal research papers displaying different perspectives and critical opinions on legal issues of current relevance. In addition, it seeks to be a source of research for its content of high academic level and to raise the quality of legal discussion in Ecuador and throughout the region, responding to the needs of the legal community, both nationally and internationally.
