Why, hello there, March! St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and lucky for you, we just added some great new content to HeinOnline. Grab your bowl of Lucky Charms (or a pint of Guinness) and join us as we take a look what has been added this past month.

Highlights from the Past Month

1. We Added the Highly Regarded  Nomos Series to HeinOnline

The NOMOS: American Society for Political and Legal Philosophy database was added to all HeinOnline Core subscriptions at no additional charge, and can be found on the welcome page or within the Law Journal Library with a two-year embargo. This robust thematic collection contains more than 60 volumes covering valuable interdisciplinary research.

2. We Showcased How to Use the Venn Diagram

With the Venn Diagram search in HeinOnline, researchers can visualize the results yield of various keywords to better refine their searches. Read through the Tip of the Week or check out this quick video tutorial.

3. We Offered Free Training on How to Utilize MyHein

MyHein has evolved from its inception in 2008 as a bookmarking device to its present-day functionality as a multi-dimensional research tool relied upon by thousands of HeinOnline users. This month, we offered a free customer training session showcasing how to use MyHein. View the recording on HeinOnline’s Youtube channel.

Be sure to register for our free training session in March, which will showcase how to research Canadian content in HeinOnline.

4. We Rediscovered Some of the Greatest Presidential Speeches in American History

Over the centuries, millions upon millions of words have been used by U.S. presidents to motivate, caution, reassure, and guide the American people. Check out the 15 Most Inspiring Presidential Speeches in American History that we found using the U.S. Presidential History Library.

5. The Session Laws Indexing Project Continues to Grow

We are currently expanding this indexing for all states back to inception. Since our last update, we have been diligently working and have indexed 11 more states back to inception. Check out the current status of this project.

Update: Since this blog post, we have since completed the indexing for New Hampshire!

Major Database Updates

We’ve added a ton of content to some of our most popular HeinOnline databases! Check out the substantial additions this month:

  • The Law Journal Library continues to grow with the addition of 9 new journals.
  • 411 CRS reports, 175 hearings, and 3 committee prints were added to the U.S. Congressional Documents database.
  • Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases grew by 220 titles.
  • 108 titles were added to GAO Reports and Comptroller General Decisions.
  • The Serial Set grew by the addition of more than 350 volumes and 180,000 pages.
  • 76 titles were added to Spinelli’s Law Library Reference Shelf.
  • More than 60 titles were added to the Legal Classics Library.
  • American Enterprise Institute grew by 32 titles.
  • 25 titles were added to World Constitutions Illustrated.
  • 21 titles were added to History of International Law.
  • Religion and the Law grew by 18 titles.
  • 13 titles were added to U.S. Federal Legislative History Library.
