Highlights from the Past Month

We Unveiled Our Newest Feature, PathFinder

At the core of PathFinder is a multi-level subject taxonomy organized from the ground up based on our initial list of 1,500 “topics.” Now called Subjects, these granular research concepts have been categorized into increasingly broad levels. We Expanded Our Social Justice Suite to Include Open Society Justice Initiative

To honor our core value of corporate citizenship, we now offer our newest database, Open Society Justice Initiative, a collection of materials free of charge to core American and international subscribers, and to the libraries of any other interested organizations or institutions. For at least the past one hundred and thirty years or so, U.S. presidents have established commissions—also called committees, boards, blue ribbon panels, or task forces—to advise them on particular problems or issues.  In this blog post, we showcase how to use the Reports of U.S. Presidential Commissions database to locate commission reports.

We Expanded the U.S. Congressional Serial Set

Since its initial release in October 2018, more than 8.3 million pages and more than 11,000 volumes have been added to the Serial Set in HeinOnline. In the past month alone, the Serial Set grew by nearly 50 volumes and 15,000 pages. Check out this month’s Secrets of the Serial Set—an exploration of the history behind Yellowstone National Park.

Major Database Updates

We’ve added a ton of content to some of our most popular HeinOnline databases! Check out the substantial additions this month:

  • The Law Journal Library continues to grow with the addition of six new journals.
  • Nearly 200 volumes were added to Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science!
  • 267 hearings, 284 CRS reports, and 59 committee prints were added to the U.S. Congressional Documents database.
  • 147 titles were added to Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases.
  • More than 100 titles were added to GAO Reports and Comptroller General Decisions
  • Legal Classics grew by 70 titles.
  • Brennan Center for Justice Publications at NYU School of Lawgrew by nearly 50 titles
  • 45 titles were added to American Enterprise Institute (AEI)
  • 28 titles were added to Taxation & Economic Reform in America Parts I and II.
