What’s New in HeinOnline: March 2021 Content Release

Are you ready for April showers? Yeah, we’re not talking about rain. A downpour of new HeinOnline content, enhancements, and features is headed your way! Highlights include a revamped search interfacea new MyHein integration with Google, an enhancement to include citation formats within PDF emailing, and more! Keep reading to find out what we’ve been working on this past month.

Highlights from the Past Month

1. New Search Update! Introducing One-Box Searching

At HeinOnline, we strive to ensure simplicity and usability in our features. To that end, searching in HeinOnline just received a long-awaited facelift. Now, instead of selecting a tab to search a specific type of data, do it all from an intuitive new one-box search (and rest assured, this interface update retains all previous searching functionality!)

2. New MyHein Feature! MyHein Integrates with Google Single Sign-On

Log into MyHein without a second thought by linking your Google and MyHein accounts. Establishing this connection will auto-sign you into MyHein whenever you’re signed into your affiliated Google account. Never interrupt your research flow again!

3. Emailing PDFs Now Includes Additional Information

Thanks to a customer suggestion, HeinOnline has updated the options when emailing a PDF from within the interface. Now, email the document along with its citation (in a chosen format), a permalink to the document, and a proxy permalink if the account has established branding.

4. New Selden Society Subcollection! Welsh Legal History Society Publications

We’re happy to announce the addition of new content to the Selden Society Publications and the History of Early English Law database, at no additional cost for subscribers! An entirely new subcollection dedicated to publications from the Welsh Legal History Society has been incorporated into the former Joseph L. Andrews Legal Literature award-winner.

5. State Constitutions Illustrated Received Another Update

In the last seven months since our last update, we’ve added more material to the State Constitutions Illustrated database. Find out what’s been added to State Constitutions Illustrated in this blog post.

6. HeinOnline’s U.S. Congressional Serial Set Keeps on Growing

Since its initial release in October 2018, nearly 6.7 million pages and more than 8,500 volumes have been added to the Serial Set in HeinOnline. In the past month alone, HeinOnline’s Serial Set grew by nearly 500 volumes and 230,000 pagesCheck out this month’s Secrets of the Serial Set—a history of education in the United States.

8. The Session Laws Indexing Project Continues

We continue to expand state session laws indexing for all states back to inception. Since our last update, we have completed the indexing for Colorado. Check out the current status of the Session Laws indexing project.

7. We Celebrated Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month has been observed since the 1980s as a way to highlight the contributions of women to society over the years. We took a look at some fascinating women in history with these blog posts:

We’ve added a ton of content to some of our most popular HeinOnline databases! Check out the substantial additions this month:

  • The Law Journal Library continues to grow with the addition of 7 new journals.
  • 381 CRS reports, 196 hearings, and 7 committee prints were added to the U.S. Congressional Documents database.
  • The Serial Set grew by the addition of more than 500 volumes and 230,000 pages.
  • 154 titles were added to GAO Reports and Comptroller General Decisions.
  • Legal Classics grew by 134 titles.
  • Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases grew by 76 titles.
  • Taxation & Economic Reform in America Parts I & II grew by 62 titles.
  • 53 titles were added to History of International Law.
  • 53 titles were added to the United Nations Law Collection.
  • 50 titles were added to World Constitutions Illustrated.
  • 39 titles were added to Congress and the Courts.
  • COVID-19: Pandemics Past and Present grew by 28 titles.
  • 26 titles were added to Religion and the Law.
